Early Childhood

The Hudson Guild Early Childhood Program’s philosophy is that children learn best when they feel safe. We offer children a nurturing and caring atmosphere that fosters trust and self-esteem, while building confidence in each child’s individual abilities. The Early Childhood Program is composed of two types of child care services: Family Day Care and School/Center-based Programming.

Children between the ages of 6 weeks to 2 years old, can be enrolled in our Family Day Care programming, where licensed and monitored child care providers take care of children in their homes. The providers provide nutritious meals in a semi-structured learning setting.

Children between the ages of 2-4 can be enrolled in the Center-based Program which is composed of a staff of certified teachers, assistant teachers, and teacher's aides who have years of experience and educational backgrounds in early childhood. The program utilizes the Creative Curriculum and New York State Preschool standards, in order to teach children through play; while focusing on theme-based learning and school readiness skills (in the areas of literacy, writing, physical activity, computer, arts, and nutrition). We also offer Universal Pre-Kindergarten for our four year old participants.

The Center-base program proudly offers a variety of activities for children ranging from music, yoga, nutrition workshops, and creative arts programming. For families we offer nutrition workshops, financial literacy information, open-art studio activities, and one-on-one support for families in need of additional supportive services.
