Meal Program
Hudson Guild’s meal programs offer seniors the opportunity to receive meals as well as education in their community. Each weekday, approximately 180 older adults enjoy a hot, well-balanced breakfast and lunch in a group setting. For many, these meals provide an entry point for Adult Services. The on-site meal program gives seniors proper nutrition and the chance to socialize with friends and neighbors. Nutrition workshops educate seniors on topics ranging from food storage to healthy eating on a budget to food interactions with medications. Seniors have an opportunity to pick up coupons each summer to exchange for $20 of fresh produce at local greenmarkets, and participants in the Chelsea Community Supported Agriculture program receive fresh produce from a small organic farm in upstate New York.
