About Hudson Guild


Hudson Guild is a multi-service community center serving those who live, work or go to school in Chelsea, with a focus on those in need. Our work helps knit together a dynamic and multi faceted community, provides a safety net for people in economic distress, and supports individuals as they pursue their goals. Building on our roots in the settlement house tradition, Hudson Guild takes an integrated, holistic approach to providing services and building community.

Founded in 1895, Hudson Guild currently provides services to more than 14,000 people each year. and the participants of Hudson Guild’s programs come from a variety of cultural, ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds.

The Guild offers five main service areas: Adult Services, Arts, Children and Youth Services, Mental Health Services and Community Building. With offerings as varied as community service projects for at-risk teens, mental health counseling for the greater New York City community, wellness presentations for seniors and rotating art gallery exhibitions, the Guild works to address the range of needs for its participants.

Hudson Guild’s mission is to create and sustain a strong, effective community that acknowledges and responds to the potential, achievements and interdependence of its diverse members. Rooted in and primarily focused on the Chelsea neighborhood, we seek to empower all individuals and families to achieve their highest potential.
